Blustery Days

The skies were weeping in the desert this day, but the atmosphere inside the house was chipper and jolly. Matt and Marie needed to run errands and make a visit to see his grandmother. I got the kids! There were toys from one end of the house to the other. It is amazing how both girls have grown and matures in nine short weeks since we were in Bethlehem to see McKay blessed. Poor little McKay He was all tuckered out from traveling and the ordeal of Sunday. Marie left him in his car seat because he had fallen asleep on the way over. He slept undisturbed for two hours. The girls colored, read, and played together, along with Uncle James, for the entire morning. Later, I fed them lunch and got them settled on my king-sized bed for a video and a nap. They wanted to watch Ice Age. Both girls were out like the lights soon after the video began.

The other grandparents and all of Matts siblings came to dinner in the evening. The menu was Hawaiian Haystacks, tossed salad, ice cream with brownies for desert. Since the other grandmas brush with death (a heart attack and subsequent stint surgery) she is on a low fat low sodium diet. I tried to cook everything to fit her regime. She passed on the desert. All in all it was a very pleasant evening. Since Matt and Marie have been married, some members of Matts family have been through many changes and growing experiences. The parents have managed to get a couple of the other kids straightened out and flying right, thus avoiding lives full of misery and unhappiness. It was very apparent as we all visited that those who had gone through the problems were much happier and content, now that they have abandoned old habits. I am glad for them all.

I thought it would be sunny today, but the weather turned blustery, just as the world has done in the past 24 hours. The little girls caught some sort of hacking, coughing, virus on the plane trip west. They were both up all night so off to their old DR they went today. Merediths throat was so swollen; the DR put her on a childrens dose of a steroid to reduce the inflammation. Marie is down-hearted because she has put so much time and effort into planning and implementing this trip. It simply NO fun to have sick kids when you travel!

I stayed home and worked on the wedding list. My grand total so far is 334! Here is a postcard of where the love birds will be traveling for their honeymoon.
